Amy Tinoco, Born in Colombia, South America, schooled in the mid west, began a professional journey into her dream of making a difference in children’s lives right here in South Florida. In the beginning she honed her talents practicing on her children as she home schooled them. She studied the art of clowning, puppets, storytelling and created “Ooopsy the Wonder Clown” in 1989.
She has accomplished many of her goals such as President of the Puppet Guild of Greater Miami, competing in the World Clown Association, hosting a 12 part series on WLRN on the history of puppetry, writing two books, writing her own songs, producing four educational videos, and marching in the Disney World Parade in Orlando.
She has become one of South Florida’s most sought after performers, her dynamic and enthusiastic characters provide fun-filled programs where children of all ages sing & dance while learning valuable life lessons on everything from good manners to patriotism. She also believes in instilling positive self-esteem in children and teaches them to whole-heartedly know they are Terrific! Because she is bilingual her performances usually encompass content in both English and Spanish. As a former member of the Storytellers Guild, World Clown Association & Southeast Clown Association she learned skills that have tweaked her performance. To continue to insure the artistic caliber she takes acting workshops and standup comedy at the world famous Improv and Universal Academy in South Beach. She not only attends private parties and corporate events, but also devotes much of her time to performing at community-wide events that benefit those less fortunate. The annual Ooopsy Birthday Bash benefiting a child, family or organization that helps at risk kids is an example of the big difference this entertainer makes in our community.
